Te Ao Mārama Tauranga Library & Community Hub
A walk-through checklist for library staff. One entry for every place, entrance, exit, stair, lift, toilet, desk and collection on the three floors. Tap a place, take the photo, and it files itself in the Access Maps Drive with the right name and tags.
Three rules for every photo
1. Landscape only
Hold the phone sideways. The app refuses portrait photos and asks you to retake, so nothing has to be redone later.
2. Match the circled spot
Each entry shows a crop of the floor plan with the place circled in amber. Stand so that spot is what the camera sees.
3. As many as you need
Follow the "Shots" line (approach, door, inside, signage). Several photos per place are welcome. No people in frame where you can avoid it.
Install on your phone (optional, 30 seconds)
iPhone (Safari)
Open the checklist, tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen. It opens full screen with its own icon.
Android (Chrome)
Open the checklist and accept the Install app prompt, or use the browser menu and choose Install.
Photos are kept on your phone until they have uploaded, so a patchy signal is fine. Tap Upload at the end of each floor if the count at the bottom is not zero.
What happens to the photos
- Each photo is named with the place ID, for example
TCL-G-017_cafe_20261106-101530412.jpg, and filed in a Drive folder for its level. - The place name, level, type and who took it are stored with the file and in a shared log, so the Access Maps team can match every photo to the map.
- The same IDs are in the spreadsheet the library received, so questions can refer to an ID.
